4-H Movie Makers use iMovie on 4-H ipads to make movie trailers. Participants learn basic elements of professional movie production while making iMovie videos. Topics covered include location, casting, storyboards, writing, acting and directing. With six iPads available a workshop can handle up to 24 participants divided into groups of three to four per "studio". Studio team members have to work together to make a succesful movie trailer. A movie trailer can be produced over several sessions or completed in one workshop. Students at The Georgetown School, John M. Gandy Elementary, Henry Clay Elementary, and Mechanicsville Elementary have successfully participated in Hanover 4-H Movie Maker workshops.
iPads Movie Maker workshops were made possible through the support of VCE and Virginia Tech iPad programs for Virginia 4-H.
