4-H Makers

Hanover Makers from The Georgetown School Summer STEM Institute sponsored by Cognizant lead a solar robot workshop at the World Maker Faire.

Cognizant Making The Future

Cognizant Cognizant's "Making the Future" program is intended to give children hands-on experiences making a variety of "cool" projects that will generate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and the Arts. Making projects allows students to explore STEM concepts while providing an opportunity for creative artistic expression. Students are exposed to basic design principles, material properties, and simple engineering concepts. The program encourages documenting projects with digital portfolios including blogs, photos, audio and video.

Making The Future has no set curriculum. Projects and instruction are designed for the age and demographics of the participants. Makers are encouraged to select projects that will provide the most engagement for the participants. Students are encouraged to share their projects and designs with other students and achievements are showcased as the end of the sessions.
